Taking a more focussed approach

So this website and other publications have been all over the place. My interests are broad and my naturel tendency to focus pretty limited. Great fun, but it does appear to come from /dev/random at times.

This has brought me joy over the years and there is no a lot wrong with doing random stuff in my spare time. There is ofcourse some duplication in effort in the randomness. And at some level things get the Groundhog Day factor: "Hey lets reinstall/retry XXX! To see how things evolved :-) Or because I b0rked the boot sector again!"

But just attending a conference or talking to people doing cool stuff, I just want to jump on the Next Great Thing. And I'm pretty good at handling new stuff while also still doing all the other stuff. I could do a great talk about how my own interpretation 'GTD' (Getting Things Done) has worked well for me, even before GTD was a concept that someone penned down.

New ideas come in waves and riding the wave is great, but there also need to be times to relax and recover.

On the technology sides of things, some choices worked out well. But some aspects could be simpler or more focused. To save time on maintaining additional stuff. One thing that comes to mind is VLANS. Yes they have their place but with my security requirements I should probably get rid of them in the home network, to save and effort for other subjects.

So pondering about this will be an additional subject on the TODO list for the coming months :-)
